CLEARANCE ASSISTANCE
Replaced your engine? Let us do the clearance
What you get
We get your new engine number updated on eNaTIS so it shows on your licence disc.
How it works
-
Email the required paperwork.
-
We collect your vehicle (home or work), take it for inspection, and return it the same day.
-
We handle SAPS & follow-ups and provide your clearance certificate (typically 1–4 working days, subject to SAPS queues).
You renew your licence disc — the new engine number now reflects on the disc
Note
If the new engine number isn’t updated on eNaTIS, you can’t renew licence, get roadworthy or transfer ownership.

No engine number on the new block?
We’ll get one issued.
We work with SAPS to issue and stamp a new engine number and update it on eNaTIS so it shows on your licence disc.
How it works
-
Email the required paperwork.
-
We collect the vehicle (already fitted) or the loose engine block (home/work) for the required inspections, and return it the same day.
-
SAPS engine number issued & stamped (usually 1–3 working days, depending on SAPS scheduling).
-
We complete the clearance and provide your certificate (typically 1–4 working days thereafter).
-
You renew your licence disc — the new engine number will reflect on the disc.
Note
If the new engine number isn’t updated on eNaTIS, you can’t renew licence, get roadworthy or transfer ownership.

BEFORE
AFTER
Rebuilt / Assembled Vehicles
If you’re building a car from parts or re-assembling a written-off vehicle, a police clearance confirms that no stolen components were used. SAPS will also assign a new vehicle ID/VIN to the rebuilt vehicle so it can be licensed and sold legally.
How it works
-
Email the required paperwork.
-
We check compliance items (microdotting if required, engine/VIN documentation).
-
We book and take the vehicle for SAPS clearance at the correct unit.
-
SAPS inspects the vehicle and issues a new VIN/ID number (and stamps/affixes it).
-
We provide your clearance certificate; you can then proceed with roadworthy and licensing on the new VIN.

Stolen & Recovered Vehicles
If your vehicle was previously stolen and has been recovered, it must be inspected at the SAPS clearance unit where it’s registered. Before the inspection, ask the investigating officer to remove the “S” mark on the system. Without this, the licence can’t be renewed, the vehicle can’t be sold or transferred, and you may face legal issues for driving a vehicle still flagged as stolen.
How it works
-
Email the required paperwork.
-
We book and take the vehicle for SAPS clearance at the correct unit.
-
Investigating officer removes the S-mark on the system.
-
We obtain your clearance certificate (timeframes subject to SAPS queues).
-
You renew the licence disc — sale/transfer can proceed if needed

Data Dots (Microdotting) — Vehicles built before 1 Sep 2012
For SAPS police clearance, vehicles built before 1 Sep 2012 must be microdotted and have a valid microdot certificate.
Data dots are tiny, uniquely numbered markers registered to your vehicle on eNaTIS. They’re sprayed onto multiple parts with a UV coating — almost invisible, but easily traceable.
How it works
-
Email the required paperwork.
-
We fit the microdots and register them to your vehicle.
-
We issue your microdot certificate — use this for SAPS police clearance.

Renewing your licence disc?
We’ll get you paperwork-ready.
We make sure your details are correct and you’ve got the right forms so renewal at the post office/registering authority is quick and painless. (Heavy-load/public transport vehicles may need a valid roadworthy.)
How it works
-
Email the required paperwork.
-
We check your details and confirm the ALV/MVL2 form you’ll use and the fees due.
-
You renew at your nearest registering authority or post office (take ID, proof of address, form and fees).
Important note (engine changes):
If you’ve replaced your engine, ensure the new engine number is updated on eNaTIS before you try to renew—otherwise transactions can be blocked. We handle that update as part of our clearance service.

Cross-border visit?
We’ll get your vehicle border-ready.
We prepare a border pack so you can drive into neighbouring countries with confidence: registration (RC1) checks, VIN/engine verification, and insurance confirmation—plus a simple checklist for the specific border you’re using.
How it works
-
Email your documents: RC1/registration, ID (or company docs), proof of address, destination and travel dates.
-
If financed: You obtain the Letter of Authority from your bank.
-
We verify VIN/engine and prepare your border pack (copies + confirmations).
-
Collect your pack (or we can deliver) and you’re good to go.
Advisory (recommended):
For cross-border visits, it’s advisable to get a Police Clearance Certificate stating the vehicle is not stolen. This helps avoid delays at roadblocks and ensures an unhindered border crossing. If you’d like, we can help
